- First, connect the router and the computer.
- Make sure that you have connected the Xfinity router and the computer using a standard Ethernet cable.
- If you have connected them wirelessly, check the Wi-Fi connection.
- On your computer, open the default browser and enter the router's IP address in the URL field.
- Press the Enter key to open the router's login portal.
- Enter the login credentials in the required fields and click the Login button to access the router's settings page.
- Navigate to the left-side panel and click the Software tab.
- On the right-side pane, click the System Software Version button to check the router's software version.
- You cannot update the software/firmware of your Xfinity router manually.
- It will be updated automatically when the update is launched.
- Sometimes, the amber light blinking problem might remain unsolved. During this situation, it is suggested to reset your Xfinity router to the factory defaults.
