The Tenda W1800R wireless AC 1750 dual-band gigabit router delivers wireless speed up to a maximum of 1750Mbps. The router enables HP streaming and provides the wireless guest network feature. The router supports the WEP, WPA-PSK, and Mixed WPA/WPA2-PSK encryption methods. Below are the simple steps to perform the Tenda W1800r router setup.

Before performing the Tenda W1800R router setup, make sure you have met the following minimum system requirements.
200MHz or better CPU
64MB or larger memory
Installed network adapter
Broadband Internet Service (through DSL or cable modem)
Operating System - Windows 98, XP, Vista, or 7
Web browser - Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
Hardware installation of your router
Connect one end of the power adapter to your router’s rear port.
Plug the other end of the power adapter into a power outlet.
Connect the Ethernet cable between the LAN port of your router and the Ethernet port of your computer.
Connect another Ethernet cable between the WAN port of your router and the rear port of your modem.
Now, you have finished the hardware and Tenda W1800r router setup.
Configure the TCP/IP settings on your computer
On your Windows 7 computer, navigate to the search bar and enter control panel.
From the search results, double-click on Control Panel.
Click the Network and Internet option.
Select the Network and Sharing Center option followed by the Change adapter settings option.
Right-click your Ethernet connection and choose Properties to get Tenda W1800r router setup.
Find the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) option and double-click it.
Click the radio button next to Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
To save the altered settings, select the OK option and continue with the Tenda W1800R router setup.
Test the connectivity
Navigate to the Start menu and then select the Run option on your Windows computer.
Enter cmd in the Run dialog box.
When the Command Prompt window opens, type 192.168.0.1 and press the Enter key.
If you get replies, it indicates that the router is connected to your computer successfully.
If you do not get any messages in the Command Prompt window, check if your router is turned on. Also, check the Ethernet cable connections and TCP/IP settings.
After testing the connectivity, proceed with the following steps to perform the Tenda W1800r router setup.
Login to your router’s web utility
On the connected computer, open a web browser.
Navigate to the address bar, type 192.168.0.1, and then press the Enter key.
Once you see the Tenda router login page, fill in the User Name and Password fields with your router’s login credentials.
Note: The default login credentials are given here for your reference.
User Name - admin
Password - admin
Perform one of the following steps to set up the Internet connectivity of the Tenda W1800R router.
PPPoE: In the Internet Connection Settings field, select the PPPoE radio button. Fill the User Name and Password fields with valid details provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
DHCP: Select the DHCP radio button in the Internet Connection Settings field while Tenda W1800r router setup .
Navigate to the Wireless Security Settings section. Check if the 2.4 G Security Key option is selected.
Type the network key of your router.
Finally, you have finished the Tenda W1800R router setup.
Verify the Internet connectivity
Click the Advanced button on the upper-right corner of the screen.
Once you click the Running Status button, navigate to the WAN Status field.
Connected - Check if you see the Connected message. Now, you can access the Internet.
Disconnected or Cable improperly connected - If you see the Disconnected message in the WAN Status field, re-establish the Ethernet connection while the Tenda W1800r router setup.
Connecting - If you see the Connecting message and there is no information in the WAN IP field, refresh the page.
If the Connecting message appears for a long time, proceed with the following steps.
On the main interface of the router’s web utility, click the Network tab on the top. Navigate to the MAC Clone tab in the left panel.
Click the Clone MAC button followed by the Save button.
Return to the WAN Status page and check if you see Connected in the WAN Status field. Also, make sure a WAN IP address appears in the WAN IP field.
The next step in the Tenda W1800R router set up is to configure your wireless settings. For this, carry out the steps given below to finish the Tenda W1800r router setup.
On the main interface of your router’s web utility, click the Wireless tab followed by the Basic Settings tab.
In the SSID field, type a new network name.
Leave other fields unchanged and click the Save button.
Navigate to the Wireless Security tab in the left panel.
Choose the WPA-PSK option from the Security Mode drop-down menu.
Enter a new password in the Security Key field.
Click the Save button to save the wireless settings.
Once done with the Tenda W1800R router set up, continue with the following steps to connect the router to your computer wirelessly to get Tenda W1800r router setup.
Connect to your computer wirelessly
On your Windows 7 computer, click the Start icon and choose the Control Panel option.
Click Network and Internet -> Network and Sharing Center.
Navigate to the Change adapter settings tab in the left panel.
Select your wireless connection and choose the Connect/Disconnect option.
Choose your network name (SSID), select the Connect automatically checkbox, and click the Connect button.
When the Connect to a Network box appears, type a network key in the Security key field and click the OK button.
After finishing the Tenda W1800r router setup, you can access the Internet.
