The Netis WF2411i Wireless N Router is a combination of both a wired and a wireless device. It can be used for SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) networks. Checking The Components:

Check if all the following components are present in the box containing the router:

  • The Netis WF2411i Wireless N Router
  • The power adapter
  • The Ethernet cable
  • The QIG or the Quick Installation Guide

Hardware Setup:

  • The first step you will have to take is to power off your modem.
  • Using the Ethernet cable, connect the WAN port on the Netis router to the LAN port of the modem.
  • You need to connect your computer to any of the LAN ports on the Netis router using an Ethernet cable.
  • You can now power on the modem.
  • Plug one end of the power adapter (that came with the router package) into the PWR jack of the router. Plug the adapter’s other end into an electrical outlet.
  • Wait patiently for a minute.

Using The Web Management Page To Set Up The Router:

You have to set the IP address of your wired network adapter. You can do it on your computer by choosing the Automatic or DHCP option.

For the Windows 8/7/Vista version:

  • Navigate to the Control Panel on your computer.
  • Left-click (or just click) on the Network and Internet option. Then, go to Network and Sharing Center.
  • Choose the Change adapter settings option (for Windows 7 and 8) or the Manage network connections option (Windows Vista).
  • Right-click on the Local Area Connection option.
  • Left-click on the Properties option.
  • Perform a double-click on the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) option.
  • Choose the Obtain an IP address automatically option and the Obtain DNS server address automatically option.
  • Click on the OK button so that you can continue with the Netis WF2411i router setup.

For the Windows XP/2000 version:

  • Go to Start and then select Control Panel.
  • Left-click on the Network and Internet Connections option and then select the Network Connections option.
  • Right-click on the Local Area Connection option and left-click on the Properties option.
  • You can now double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) option.
  • Choose the Obtain an IP address automatically option and the Obtain DNS server address automatically option.
  • Click on the OK button.

For MAC OS:

  • On your computer, click the Apple menu and then select the System Preferences option.
  • Locate the Network icon and click on it.
  • From the left side, choose the Ethernet option.
  • Go to the bottom-right corner of the current window and click on the Advanced button.
  • Select the TCP/IP option from the top.
  • From the pull-down menu beside the Configure IPv4 option, choose Using DHCP.
  • Click on the OK button.
  • Finally, click on the Apply button to continue with the Netis WF2411i router setup.
  • You have to visit the Netis router’s web management page. To do that, first open a web browser on your computer. Then, type http://netis.cc in the address bar of the browser.
  • Choose the desired language in the box given at the top. The default language will be English.
  • On the Quick Setup page, select the desired Internet Connection Type, based on your preferences:
  • If you choose the DHCP (Cable Modem) option, your Netis router will get the IP parameters from your ISP.
  • If you select the Static IP option, you need to enter the IP Address/Subnet Mask/Default Gateway provided by your ISP.
  • In case you choose the PPPoE option, you have to enter the Username and Password provided by your ISP.
  • In the Wireless Setup section, type in your Wireless Network Name (or SSID) and Password. You can utilize the default SSID (netis_XXXXXX) and the default password (password). Here, the XXXXXX part refers to the last 6 digits of your LAN MAC address.
  • Finally, click on the Save button for applying all your settings.
  • You have now completed the Netis WF2411i router setup.
