- First, check whether all the connections from the router are secure. Make sure that the router is turned on.
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi extender is working.
- If the Wi-Fi extender cannot detect the 5GHz wireless network of the router, it may lose connection to the 5 GHz band.
- Try changing the wireless channel of your Netgear router and verify whether the issue has been resolved.
- Restart the router, extender, and your computer.
- From your browser, go to the web-based setup page of the router.
- Enter the username and password of your router and click on the Login button.
- Click the Wireless tab and navigate to the Wireless Settings page.
- Select Channel under Wireless Network (5GHz).
- If you find that the Netgear router is set to Auto or a channel between 52-64 or 100-140, you can change it to a channel between 36-48 or between 149-161.
- If the router doesn’t work after changing the channel recommended above, try entering a different channel to fix the intermittent connections.
