Checking the Name of the Wireless Networks:
If the wireless network name and password don’t match with one another or if there exists a network with a similar SSID as yours, then the error might arise. You can either alter your network’s SSID to something that is unique or enter the correct password.
To change the SSID of the wireless network, make use of the following steps:
- On your computer, open the default web browser.
- Go to the address bar and type in the Linksys router’s IP address. It is 192.168.1.1.
- Tap on the Enter key.
- Now, a prompt will appear, and it will request you to enter the default login credentials. Keep the Username field blank. In the Password field, enter admin.
- Tap the OK button.
- Now, the Linksys router setup configuration page will appear on your screen. On this page, click the Wireless tab.
- Under the Wireless tab, select the Basic Wireless Settings option.
- On the next page that opens up, navigate to the Configuration View section. In this section, select the Manual radio button.
- Now, you will find a list with some items. From this list, choose the item with the name, Network Name (SSID) to fix Linksys router authentication problem.
- On the right side of this item name, you will see an empty space. In this space, enter a unique name for the wireless network. You can provide a name based on your preference.
- Tap on the Save Settings button.
Switching the Airplane Mode On and Off:
At times, you might encounter the Linksys RE6400 authentication problem due to a glitch in your Android operating system. To resolve this issue, you have to activate the Airplane Mode and then deactivate it. To achieve this, follow the steps given here:
- Unlock your Android smartphone. Then, you have to swipe down from the top of the phone screen to show the Notification and the Quick Settings section.

- In case any network is active, tap on that specific network to turn it Off.
