How to Install My Netgear Wireless Router Without a CD
TWhen you want to set up the router, you need to install the router using the router setup CD or web browser. You can connect your devices to the Netgear router through a wireless network or wired connection without the installation CD.

The physical connection of router & computer
If you have directly connected the modem or internet cable to your computer or laptop, then disconnect it.
Now, connect the modem cable to the WAN port of the Netgear Wi-Fi router.
Following that, use another Ethernet cable to connect the LAN port of the Netgear router and the computer.
Plug the power cord of the router to an electrical outlet and switch on the router.
Router configuration page
Before you access the Netgear router’s configuration page, you need to know the IP address of the router, which is available in the label stuck on the bottom of the router.
Also, write down the wireless network SSID and the network password of the router from the label.
Then, you need the wireless network broadband details to enable the wireless network connection.

Open the web browser on the computer and enter the router’s IP address.
Then, fill in the User Name and the Password to log in to the router’s configuration page.
See if the network connection is enabled on the Home page. Click the Internet menu on the right panel.
Next, the router smart setup wizard asks to proceed, select the No, I want to configure the router myself option and click Next.
Under Internet Setup, fill the necessary network options, which are Internet Service Provider, Login information, and connection mode.
Choose Get Dynamically from ISP as the Internet IP Address menu.
In the Domain Name Server (DNS) Address category, select Get Automatically from ISP.
Finally, select the Use Default Address in the Router MAC Address section and click Apply.
After applying the internet settings, the router starts updating the settings and returns to the router’s home page.
Now, click the Wireless menu on the right-side panel.
In the Wireless Network section, choose the region from the drop-down menu, wireless network, and security options.
Then, click the Apply button to save the settings.
After that, select Attached Devices and verify whether the connected devices to the network.
When the installation is complete, remove the Ethernet connection between the computer and the router.
To connect your device to the wireless router network, turn on the Wi-Fi network connection on the Netgear router and then click the Wi-Fi icon on the computer to scan for the available Wi-Fi networks.
Select the Netgear’s network SSID on the computer. Following that, enter the network password to establish the Wi-Fi network connection.
If you do not want the wireless network connection, continue with the Ethernet connection.
