You can use the WPS button on the extender to provide a network connection. If it doesn't work, then go with the procedure below to connect your TP-Link Extender via a web browser.
- Inspect the label on the extender to find the network name of the device.
- Detach all the ethernet connections from your home computer.
- Turn on your system and connect it with the extender's wireless network.
- Locate the wi-fi icon on the taskbar and click on it.
- Look for the name of your extender's wireless network which is mentioned as TP-Link_Extender_2.4GHz or TP-Link_Extender_5GHz and the Quick Setup wizard launches.
- Visit the extender's configuration using the IP address mentioned on the label of the instrument.
- Create your Pass-phrase to log in and hit the Start button.
- Locate the 2.4GHz SSID of your host router setup and select it to enter its password.
- Repeat the same process for the 5GHz band and hit the Next button.
- Modify the extender's SSID in the next page if required and select the Next button.
- Examine the wireless settings and apply the changes by clicking the Save button.
- The corresponding LED (2.5 or 5GHz) will turn on indicating a successful connection.
- Select a suitable place to position your extender.
- Make sure you place the device between the host router and the wi-fi dead zone.
- Power on the extender and wait until the LED resumes.
- If the LED blinks, then relocate the device to a place where it achieves maximum signal strength.
