DHCP is a server that allocates the IP address for each and every device that is connected to a
network. This page explains how to disable DHCP on Xfinity router.
Basically, you can’t turn off or disable the DHCP server on Xfinity routers. In other words, there
is no option to disable DHCP on the Xfinity router. So, you’ll need to apply a specific
configuration for your device. But, there is an alternative way to fix this issue.
You can use Internet Security Firewall devices like CUJO. This device protects your computer
and the other devices from malware, viruses, and other harmful threats. Get the CUJO device
or the other one of your desire.
In this section, CUJO is taken as an example.
First, connect the CUJO device to your Internet using an Ethernet cable.
Next, register and activate your CUJO device using the CUJO app.
After activating the device, perform the setup process, as discussed below.
In the browser’s search field, type your Xfinity router’s IP address.
If prompted, enter your router’s credentials and click Sign In. Go to the Connected Devices section.
Now, find a free IP address in both the Online Devices list and the Offline Devices list.
Click the ADD DEVICE WITH RESERVED IP button. Now, an empty static IP reservation will be created.
In the Host Name, MAC Address, Reserved IP Address, and Comment fields, enter the following details:
MAC Address: Address of your desire
Reserved IP address: Enter your free IP address
Now, go to the Connection section.
Click Local IP Network and enter your free IP address in the given field.
