Step 1 - Cisco router and switch
Take a yellow CAT5 Ethernet cable and connect its one end to the Ethernet switch port of the Cisco router.

Plug the DB-9 end of the console cable into the DB-9 end of the modem’s adapter.
Connect the DB-25 end of the modem’s adapter to your modem.
Make sure both the Cisco router and the modem have been set up for the same transmission speed.

Establish a connection between the AC adapter and an AC power outlet.
Plug the AC adapter into the Cisco router.
Step 5 - Connections verification
Turn on the Cisco router, modem, switch, and laptop/computer.
