Access Spectrum Router
To access the web page of your Spectrum wireless router, you need to know its IP address. After you get the IP address, enter it on any web browser and then provide the appropriate username and the password. Now, the web-based setup Configuration of the Spectrum wireless access point will appear on your personal computer or laptop. The detailed steps on how to access the Spectrum router are given in the below sections.
How to Log in to Spectrum Router: Change Password & Network Name
To log in to the spectrum router and change the network password and name, you can follow the simple guidelines mentioned below. Before proceeding with these guidelines, make sure your Spectrum router is connected to an active internet connection.
- Launch the web browser on your personal computer and go to Spectrum.net.
- Log into your Spectrum.net account by entering your credentials.
- After you log into your Spectrum account, wait for the page to load completely.
- Choose the Menu button located on the left-hand corner of the page.
- Now, select the Manage Account button and click on View Device Info.
- The network names and passwords of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks are displayed.
- After making a note of the network names and passwords of the Spectrum router, proceed to the next step.
- Log in to the web GUI. To do this, carefully enter the IP address of your access point into your browser’s address bar and press Enter. The default IP address of routers is 192.168.1.1.
- You can also look for the IP address printed on the label attached to your Spectrum router.
- Navigate to the required network, which can either be 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.
- Click on the Basic Tab and enter the desired SSID, i.e., the network name in the SSID field.
- Your network name reads broadcast by default.
- Now, choose the security encryption mode in the Security Setting section. Here, the default encryption mode is WPA2 Personal.
- You can change the encryption mode if your devices do not support WPA2 Personal, but it is not advisable to do so.
- Carefully, enter your new Wi-Fi password in the Wi-Fi password field. Confirm your new password for the network by entering it again in the Confirm Password field.
- Click the blue 'Apply' button at the bottom of the screen to complete the network name and password change.
