Start by disconnecting the power cord and Ethernet cable from your DSL modem.
Unpack your router and place it close to your modem.
Connect your modem to the router’s Internet port using the supplied Ethernet cable.
Turn on your modem and wait for at least a minute.
Next, connect your router to an electrical outlet using the supplied power cord and then turn it on.
Wait for the LED indicator to change from orange to solid white.
Now, connect your router and computer via another Ethernet cable. This time the Ethernet cable should be plugged into your router’s LAN port.

Software Setup Using D-link Setup Wizard:
On your computer, close all the running apps and open the default browser.
If this is the first time router setup, the D-Link Setup Wizard will appear automatically in the browser.
Otherwise, enter your router’s IP address in the URL field and hit the Enter key to access the router setup page.
In the D-Link Dir-882 router setup wizard, click Next on the Welcome screen.
Step To Configure D-Link DIR-882 Wireless Router:
Wait for your router to detect your Internet connection type.
If your router is not detecting the Internet connection type, select any one of the following Internet connection types on the Configure Your Internet Connection screen.
DHCP Connection (Dynamic IP Address)
Username/Password Connection (PPPoE)
Static IP Address Connection
Click Next after choosing your Internet connection type.
If your Internet connection type is PPPoE, enter the username and password provided by your ISP.
