Asus RT-N300 is a wireless router that comes with two external high-performance antennas for wider coverage. It can be configured as a router, repeater, and access point.

Before you initialize the process, verify that you have a stable Internet connection from your DSL modem. To check it, connect your computer directly to the modem via an Ethernet cable and see if you can access the Internet.
If your modem is working well, turn it off and unplug its power adapter from the wall outlet.
Next, unbox your router and take out the box contents.
Connect the router to your modem using the supplied network cable. This cable should be connected to your router’s WAN port.
Plug the modem’s power adapter back to the wall outlet and power on the modem. Do the same for your router.
If this is not the first-time setup, you should have reset the router to factory defaults. To reset the printer, press the Reset button and hold it for at least 10 to 15 seconds.

Connect your computer and the router’s LAN port using a standard Ethernet cable.
Launch the default browser on your computer and enter the router’s IP address in the URL field. Hit Enter to access the router setup page.
You can find the router’s IP address from its label. However, you can also get it from your computer.
If you are using Windows, click the Start menu and type ‘cmd’ in the search panel.
From the search result, right-click the Command Prompt app and select the Run as administrator option.
Enter ‘ipconfig’ in the Command Prompt window and hit Enter.
Navigate to the Default Gateway section to identify your router’s IP address.
Exit the Command Prompt app and type the IP address in your browser to access the router setup page.
If prompted, enter ‘admin’ in the Username and Password fields and click OK to access the router setup page.
Go to the Quick Internet Setup tab and configure the required network settings.
Choose a mode for your router and select the Internet connection type.
To secure your Wi-Fi network, change the default wireless password.
After completing the required network settings, click Next followed by Finish.
If you cannot access the router setup page from your computer, connect your smartphone to the router using the wireless network settings.
You can then install the Asus Router app and configure the router settings from it.
