Step 1: Preparing your Asus router and the modem for the setup
Make sure that your router is unpacked completely.
Check whether your modem is connected to an active internet connection and turned on.
Place your router within the range of the modem.
Step 2: Physical setup
Based on the connection type, the hardware steps to perform the Asus RT-AX88U router setup might vary. The below section explains both the wired and wireless connection methods in detail.
Method 1: Wired connection
Turn off your modem and disconnect its power cable from the wall outlet.
